Listening to the radio today I received that gift in the form of Marvin Gaye’s seasonally appropriate gem ‘Purple Snowflakes’. Dafunky Situation would like to wish you and yours all the best this holiday season and nothing but good vibes in the 2012. With that being said I would like to take you back to 1964 with the sweet sounds of Marvin Gaye. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We would personally like to thank everyone that came out and contributed to making the event a great success this Saturday. We were able to display the beautiful works of the very talented Charles Ajani, while raising money for a great cause with Peace Quest.

Most of all thank you to our fans that come out show after show, we are truly nothing without your support. We’ll keep making it funky for you. More shows are to follow in the near future.

For more information on what went on that night please

I am beyond honored, happy and proud to announce and invite you to my upcoming art exhibit, “The Expanse”, which will be happening on the evening of Saturday, December 3rd, at Gallery C.C. in Toronto, from 6:00 PM until late ( — after 2:00 AM).

The exhibition will showcase new pieces that were produced by me, specifically for “The Expanse” and it will also feature work by a Toronto-based (guest) artist named Meghan Janushewski — a visual artist that I have worked with on numerous occasions and who I regard as one of the most talented and versatile creative minds in Canada.

The event will be produced by a j a n i photography: digital image solutions, by Peace Quest — one of the most innovative non-profit organizations in recent Canadian history, as well as by Gallery C.C. and the acclaimed DJ collective, DaFunky Situation.

“The Expanse” will also feature an amazing art playground, available for those who wish to paint, and we encourage artists to donate their finished pieces to Peace Quest, who will ship them out to families and villages they are helping in the Philippines! The art playground will also feature a chalkboard for people to draw on!

The summarized details on “The Expanse” are as follows:

Artwork By: Ajani Charles featuring Meghan Janushewski

Venue: Gallery C.C., 627 Queen Street West, (at Bathurst Street and Queen Street West in) Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Date: Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

Time: 6:00 PM until Late ( — after 2:00 AM)

Entrance Fee: $10 at the door (after 10:00 PM, with a percentage of the fee going towards Peace Quest)

Music By: Dafunky Situation, the official DJ for a j a n i photography: digital image solutions – DJ Combo, Casey Yugo with The Vibrasonic Sessions, AHI, Newbreed MC, Skratch Meat and many others!

Furthermore, the show will include great food for all guests (from a number of local catering companies and restaurants), cheap/discounted beer provided by Mill Street Brewery, an assortment of other liquor-based (and non-alcoholic) drinks and incredible cupcakes provided by Suite Creative Indulgence!

These guys kept the party going for me all summer and made me real proud to be a child of the big hair, tie-dye jean, synth filled 80′s. Shit these guys got me doing the whiteman two-step swing yourself into the floor dance all night long – what you don’t know that one? Yeah you do! Even non-caucasian peoples have been reported doing that shit in discos all over the world before this synth infused dance-pop became popular again. Hey I’m not knocking it, can’t get enough. Here is Holy Ghost! with ‘Wait & See’, off their self titled 2011 LP. Who ever decided to put their fathers in this NYC based vid is a fucking genius… awesome stuff.
